Detox DELAYED!

So my detox was delayed. I became very sick on about day 4 or 5. As you can read in my day 3 update I was getting sick. I thought it was normal detox symptoms, but it was much more than that. It lasted about 3 weeks. After that my asthma flared up. I'm not to crazy about mixing my inhaler medications with certain herbs, so I delayed the detox. I planned to start up the detox again Monday, but got a stomach bug. I'm feeling really anxious to get this thing going already! I plan to start it full swing this week after my tummy heals up some. I'm sticking to gentle foods right now and I don't want to stress my system out right now with flushing toxins. So I will be keeping you updated. Lesson here: Don't give up no matter what life keeps throwing in your face. Keep pushing forward! I can do this! :)

Detox Update: Day 3

Okay, so this is the 30 day detox program from Dr. Schulze's. I don't plan on writing a post everyday, but I have found it nearly impossible to find any reviews on this program on any other site. It's just hard to find. So I am going to try and keep everyone updated on how this goes so that if you try this or you are trying this you will know what to expect.

So all I have taken the last 3 days is the Intestinal Formula #1 (1 pill), Superfood Plus Powder (2TBL 2x day), and Echinacea (2 droppers full 2-3x a day). The Echinacea is suppose to be 5x a day, but I don't remember to do that. I am thinking of setting my phone alarm for that when I start the Intestinal Forumala #2. The Superfood Plus already has some detoxing plants in it so I'm thinking that is what's kick starting this detox. I didn't expect any symptoms until I started Intestinal Formula #2, but they are already starting.

Last night it was so bad that I was just ready to throw the towel in and quit! On day 2! It was bad and it is still pretty bad as I type this on day 3. My throat is swollen, my sinus's are congested really bad, my head feels like it's going to explode at any given second. Just standing up from a normal sitting position makes me extremely dizzy and I feel as if I could just sleep all day. With a toddler though, that is not an option. My throat is bright bright red and I really do feel like I have the flu or that I have been hit by a mac truck. I do not have a fever at all though and it feels as if I should. I'm remember what day 1 felt like (amazing!) and I am focusing on that right now to get me through this. If I can have AMAZING everyday after this detox, then it will be worth it.

Hope this helps somebody out there that might be going thru this to or is about to do this detox. :)

Detox Update: Day #2

So it's now day two of my new year commitment to a detox. I actually started 2 days before the new year though. :)

The first day (yesterday) was great! I took my herbal formulas as directed and my energy was sky high! I felt great! THEN this morning I woke up with a horrible headache that has lasted me all day. I have some aches and pains in my lower back area as well. I'm just trying to go with the flow and hope to keep on smiling when my toddler wants to play! LOL! I am hoping tomorrow will be better. I didn't even start the serious stuff yet so I am starting to become a bit nervous. Wish me luck! :)

New year coming up! What's your plan?

Okay, I will be the first to tell you that I am not into new years resolutions. I just don't like the pressure it puts on me. I have however committed myself to a full body detox. This will be my first detox not counting a few detox juices here and there, so I am really excited to see how this will go. I think it's always a great idea to get the old toxins out and get things healing and improving. I am using a few detox kits from the herbdoc.com (no affiliation). I have seen lots of other great detox kits on the market, but these are totally organic and the one that I am doing (the 30 day detox kit) contains extras such as superfood supplements, air detox spray, and breath freshener! Just a few little things to make things more fun. Just be sure that when choosing a detox kit to check out the ingredients and make sure they are all organically grown. Have you ever done a detox kit before? If so how did it go? Did you feel better after and how long did the results last for? I'd love to hear from you!

My Story

I wanted to give everyone a little background information about myself. I often get asked why I started taking a strong interest in health and alternative remedies. Well, for me it was simple. I was just sick of being sick!

A little back history about myself. Growing up I would have tonsillitis 3-4 times a year. No kidding! Have you ever had tonsillitis even once? It's horrible. I can't even begin to calculate all the antibiotics that I put into my body. I know it must have been a lot. As I was nearing the age of 25 it wasn't getting any better. The doctors said it would slowly get better, but there I was sick 3 times a year or more with my tonsils. It got to the point that the antibiotics were not effective any longer and my sickness would linger on for a good 3 weeks. It was hard to work and get things done. There had to be a better way! I began looking into ways to build my immune system. I only would do them though when I felt sick, so it wasn't doing me much good. At age 27 my husband and I decided to start a family. Knowing that I wanted to breast feed, I knew I couldn't be on antibiotics while nursing. Even if they said that it was safe, I really didn't want to pass any of that to my baby OR have to deal with nightly feedings with a 103 degree fever. No thanks! So I decided to get my tonsils out. FINALLY! I waited so long to have the surgery because the doctors said I wouldn't be as sick as I got older and because I figure that my tonsils are there for a reason right (and they are!). So I got it done. I figured in my case they were doing more harm than good. So out they went! My episodes of becoming sick lessoned to about 1-2 times a year! YAY! That's a big improvement for me. When I did get sick it was strep throat and it didn't last very long. Not as painful either.

Then it was time to build that family of ours. Well, getting pregnant is a bit harder than I thought. My doctors wanted to put me on fertility drugs. Um, no thanks! I think I had my fill of RX meds in my lifetime already! There had to be a better way!! So I looked into herbal remedies for fertility. We juiced, ate better, etc. I felt much better, but still not pregnant! So I found this product called Fertile Aid (I am not affiliated with them, just LOVE them). It's all natural and boosts both male and female fertility. I purchased a bottle for woman and a bottle for men. I began taking them as soon as they came in the mail and in 3 weeks when my period was due..... NOTHING happened! I was pregnant!!! That fast! My very first real success with herbal treatments and it was a BIG ONE!

This sparked a huge curiosity in the healing powers of plants and herbs. When I was 7 months pregnant my cat became very sick. So sick the vet wanted to put him down out of his misery. I wouldn't take that as an answer so I did my research. This time I dove straight into herbal remedies for cats. I found a website called Pet Alive (not affiliated). My cat had jaundice, sever UTI, and kidney problems. He is an FIV cat (similar to human HIV) so just a little infection can kill him. His blood levels were OFF the charts in red. I had spent about $400 or more on medications from the vet and nothing worked, so when I found this site I was truly excited! It was my last ditch effort, but I really felt good about it. I ordered Liver & Immune support, UTI Free, and also Kidney support. By this time that I was about 8 months pregnant and a month of having a very sick cat. I was giving him Sub Q fluids twice a day! When this stuff came in I gave it to him right away. The first day went by and that night (maybe 3 doses) he looked a little better. Three days later he looked much better. They yellow in his eyes went back to white and he was walking around again. He wasn't eating or drinking on his own yet though so I ordered a product called Kiddi Flourish (from the human site of Pet Alive called Native Remedies). The people from the company said to give him a few drops at a time. After the first dose 15 minutes later he drank water on his own for the first time in about 5 weeks. After the second day he was eating! No more assist feeding for me! Whew! I was so excited I took him straight down to the vet and request a blood panel. His blood levels were NORMAL! 100% CURED! The vet was beside himself and begged to know what I was using. HERBS! That was in 2009 and to date (12/2013) he is alive and healthy! He even made good friends with the baby! :)

My next encounter with herbs came when I was breast feeding. My son had kidney problems after leaving the hospital (the nurses starved him while I was out cold from drugs they gave me & his kidneys were failing! Took about 3 months to recover from, but that's another story!) and he required feedings every 1-2 hours around the clock. I wasn't producing enough milk and it was draining me mentally and physically and emotionally! I was a wreck! I turned to fenugreek tea and mothers milk tea. WOW! In a few short days my milk supply went thru the roof! I was pumping and making extra which mean the hubby could do some feedings now and I could sleep! YES!

Sadly my final encounter that really set everything into motion is my grandmother. She had cancer and I started my research! WOW! The things I found amazed me to no end. I spent days and nights on end reading up on cures to cancer, how our body works, natural remedies for this and that. Who knew! I was fully emerged into this new world and I loved it. Unfortunately my grandmother wanted nothing to do with it. I respected that I eased off of all the info I sent her. She passed away early 2013 of pancreas cancer. By this point though I was just to far into this new world of health that it was to late to ever look back. It was fascinating to me and I read and studied each and every second I could.

I am now here to share what I have learned with the anyone who so wishes to read this blog. After a few house bills are paid off I am planning on getting an official degree in holistic health and holistic nutrition. So join me as I share some great information and as I myself start implementing the things that I have learned so far. I'm just an average person eating an average western diet and dealing with the same exact struggles as most other people. My first journey is changing my diet. I hope you join me and share with me your experiences as I start my journey here with you. :)
